Young Person’s Inclusion Project (YPIP)

About the Program

In the 2025–26 Budget, the Australian Government announced changes to the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) program.

These changes aim to:

  • Make services more consistent across Australia
  • Improve the quality of support
  • Help more people with disability, their families and carers

Over time, the current ILC program will be replaced. New supports will be introduced through longer-term funding and by sharing good ideas that achieve better results.

Funding Opportunity

AMPARO Advocacy was invited to apply for funding under the new Information Linkages and Capacity Building 2025-2026 Grant program offered by the federal Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.

The program focuses on three main areas:

  1. Key Life Transitions
Helping young people with disability prepare for important life changes (such as starting school or leaving school) to achieve greater independence, and increased participation in community.
  2. Support for Families and Carers
Helping families build knowledge, skills and confidence to support their family member with disability. (including peer support)
  3. Inclusive Supports
Making sure services are inclusive and meet the needs of people from different backgrounds and experiences

Young Person’s Inclusion Project (YPIP)

AMPARO Advocacy has created the Young Person’s Inclusion Project (YPIP).
This project supports young people aged 3 to 25 from multicultural backgrounds who have disability, and their families in the Brisbane, Logan and Ipswich areas.

We help people to:

  • Understand disability and their rights
  • Build confidence and speak up for themselves
  • Make informed choices and become more independent
  • Think about what a good life looks like
  • Find and use the right services, including the NDIS
  • Have choice and control when using services

How We Support Families

We also help individuals and families to:

  • Feel confident to speak up and use their rights
  • Connect with others and build friendships
  • Prepare for important life stages (early childhood, school, and after school)

How We Deliver Support

We provide support through:

  • Face-to-face meetings at home or another place of your choice
  • Workshops designed to meet your needs
