Inclusive Leadership Network (ILN)
Inclusive Leadership Network
Building the leadership of people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds with disability to shape systems and drive change.
The Inclusive Leadership Network (ILN) is a program led by AMPARO Advocacy that supports individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds with disability and family members, to develop their leadership and advocacy skills, amplify their voices, and influence systems that affect their lives.
Too often, people from CALD backgrounds with disability face systemic exclusion, cultural misunderstandings, and limited opportunities to lead. The ILN addresses these barriers by creating inclusive, culturally sensitive spaces where participants can grow in confidence, build skills, connect with peers and mentors, and contribute meaningfully to community conversations and decisions.
Our Vision
A thriving, inclusive Queensland where people from CALD backgrounds with disability actively shape policies, systems, and communities—bringing diverse perspectives to the forefront and enriching advocacy landscapes.
What the ILN Offers
- Culturally Sensitive Training – Interactive workshops on leadership, advocacy, public speaking, human rights, systems change, and more.
- Mentoring – One-on-one guidance and support from experienced advocates and community leaders.
- Community Engagement – Opportunities to share lived experiences and participate in consultations, forums, and collaborative projects.
- Systems Change – Support to identify and challenge systemic barriers—and lead efforts for lasting change.
Who Can Join?
The ILN welcomes members of AMPARO Advocacy who:
- Are people from CALD backgrounds with disability or family members
- Bring valuable lived experience and insights
- Are committed to personal development and supporting others
- Want to lead, influence, and make a difference in their communities.
Why It Matters
People from CALD backgrounds with disability are underrepresented in leadership and decision-making spaces. The ILN seeks to change this by:
- Strengthening diverse voices
- Building skills and confidence
- Supporting peer learning and connection
- Creating pathways into leadership and advocacy roles
- Driving a more inclusive and equitable society.
